Biography

After graduating from the Prague Conservatory, Jana worked as an actor in the theater in Pilsen for 4 years. Then, Oscar winning director Jiří Menzel offered her an engagement at the Prague’s Theater Vinohrady, where she played for 13 years. During this  engagement, she performed as a guest actor in several theater projects. In 2007, Oscar winning director Miloš Forman chose her for the title role of Vanilka, in the performance A Well-Paid Walk (in original Dobře placená procházka) at the Czech National Theater. She is now a freelancer. Also, she is the director of the independent association Theater 6-16. Most recently, she performed in the TV series Sever, which was directed by Robert Sedláček for Czech Television.
