Biography

Roman Blumaier was born in Brno. He played hockey for Brno's Kometa team from an early age. He studied to become an artistic blacksmith. After graduating from high school, he decided to study acting. In 2007, he graduated from JAMU under Prof. Ctibor Turba.

He is a member of the National Theater Brno drama ensemble. His major roles include Figaro in D.C. Jackson's The Marriage of Figaro, the provocative Fear Eats the Soul, where he played the Moroccan worker Salem, and the comedy Night of the Fools, where he played Lewis, a young director.

Roman Blumaier has also appeared in film and television. His roles as the pirate Boris in Pirate Broadcast, as Karel in the films Špindl and Špindl 2, and as a patient having a seizure in the film Smiles of Sad Men, which is one of the film's most powerful moments, were particularly memorable.
