Tomas Zilinsky: From Countryside to Spotlight
Born in the tiny village of Pohor, Tomas Zilinsky set his sights on Brno, where he joined the conservatory despite doubts about his musical theatre ambitions. Later, he was accepted into both musical and dramatic acting programs at the Janacek Academy of Music and Performing Arts, choosing drama under Nika Brettschneiderová while performing in musicals like Steel Pier and Footloose.
Tomas brings depth to every role, from Shakespeare’s Prospero to a rockstar Lion and a tormented Dog in Animal Farm. On screen, he’s appeared in Lucky Loser, Labyrinth, and 1. Mise. Frustrated with limited opportunities, he created Hraj něco!, an improvisation-based web series featuring Czech acting stars such as Vojta Kotek, Michal Istenik, Albert Cuba.
Outside acting, Tomas organizes festivals, streams charity events, and drums with bands like OKno and Jenny & the Machine Elves. He also enjoys piano, guitar, and floorball—and occasionally works as a health clown, bringing joy to those in need.
